Our estates

The Vineyeard

The vineyards are planted on calcareous soil. The subsoils are mainly composed of limestone. The soil is brown, light, and ventilated- ideal for the Pinot Noir grape. The Givry reds come from the Pinot Noir grape. The Givry region consists primarily of reds. The parcels are exposed East to South East, between 240 and 280 meters high. Still enclosed by walls and sheltered from strong winds, this premier cru was planted by the monks of La Ferté. It is located at the foot of the church of the Poncey hamlet midway up the hillside. It is a Monopole.

Aging Process

The wine is aged in oak barrels.

Tasting Notes

A clear, brilliant cherry red colour. A fine aromatic intensity of fresh fruit, raspberry, strawberry and redcurrant, with light hints of mocha and roasted coffee. Warm and fruity in the mouth, with a vanilla taste. The tannins are supple. Its firm structure covers a delicate, aromatic register. It is rich, fine and generous, with outstanding elegance and full of promise for maturing.


Fine charcuteries or eggs en meurette. This wine is excellent with portions of grilled or roasted red meats; stewed, roasted, or braised poultry; and veal en blanquette or roasted or braised. On the more exotic side but still appropriate: brochettes, keftas and other eggrolls. Or simply soft crust cheeses such as Camembert, Roblochon, and Brie.


Best consumed within the six or seven years following harvest. Serving temperature between 16 and 18°C.
