Givry Clos Le Vernoy Blanc - Domaine Laborbe Juillot
The grapes are grown on calcareous soil. The subsoil is composed primarily of limestone. The ground is somewhat brittle.
Next to the Clos Marceaux, in the Poncey hamlet, the vineyard is still entirely surrounded by walls. It is located at the bottom of the hillside and faces full east.
The Givry whites come from the Chardonnay variety.
The wine is aged exclusively in stainless steel vats.
With a brilliant, light golden colour, this wine has subtle aromas blending hazelnut with violet and changing to honey with age. A lively bite and fine balance, with hints of fresh fruit and some spicy overtones. This structured wine is very rounded and fullbodied in the mouth.
Excellent with fish (fish stew, wrapped fish, salmon on toast or tuna terrines), white meat (poultry, chicken in puff pastry) and cheeses: goat cheese, bleu cheese, Comté or Brillat-Savarin.
Best consumed within five years following harvest.
Serving temperature between 11 and 13°C.
