Montagny 1er Cru - Château du Cray
The vintage MONTAGNY 1er Cru is a white wine made from Chardonnay grapes.
The château du Cray represents a region of 17 hectares, of which 4 hectares are devoted to the Montagny 1er Cru. It is located north of Buxy. The vineyards surround the château and benefit from excellent east to south-east exposure.
Calcareous hillsides, with a predominant limestone content. The average age of the vines is forty years old.
Around 12 to 14 months in oak barrels.
A brilliant deep golden colour, this wine has a floral nose with hints of citrus fruit (lemon) dominated by roasted brioche overtones. It has a pleasant floral and slightly mineral freshness in the mouth. This vintage is typically fine and rich.
Salmon or tuna tartar, cod-fish with mild spices, fish terrine, caramelised king prawns or sea food ravioli gratin, and delicate and refined dishes all pair perfectly with the finesse and richness of our Montagny 1er cru. The charolais veal with its white sauce, Bresse poultry, and cheeses (Comté, Beaufort, Emmental, goat) are also excellent accompaniments for this wine.
Best consumed within six to seven years following harvest.
Serving temperature between 11 and 13°C.
