Montagny 1er Cru Les Coeres
MONTAGNY 1er Cru is a white wine made from Chardonnay grapes.
Extending over three communes, this climate is one of the most important for premier crus. A neighbour to LES CHAGNOTS, it is
located midway on the slopes.
Predominantly calcareous clay, these soils are light in surface, with few rocks.
In stainless steel vats.
Complex on the nose, with a combination of fruity, floral and mineral hints. Powerful and rich in the mouth. Very good for laying down, Coères progress to aromas of honey, quince and confit. It takes at least five years for the fine secondary aromas to appear (hazelnut, almond, wild rose, wild flowers and more).
Salmon or tuna tartar, cod-fish with mild spices, fish terrine, caramelised king prawns or sea food ravioli gratin, and delicate and refined dishes all pair perfectly with the finesse and richness of our Montagny 1er cru. The charolais veal with its white sauce, Bresse poultry, and cheeses (comté, beaufort, emmental, goat) are also excellent accompaniments for this wine.
Best consumed ten years after harvest.
